WORKSHOP TITLE: MAKING MEETINGS WORK
LENGTH AND SIZE: Two days – Maximum 14 students
INSTRUCTOR: Carolyn (Casey) Reynolds
It’s no secret that most people are less than enthusiastic about attending
meetings. Yet in today’s work environment, the group meeting is
increasingly essential.
This workshop demonstrates how better planning and better communication
disciplines can dramatically improve conferences, making them more
cost-effective and productive. Students will practice functioning more
efficiently and confidently in a group setting, both as leaders and as
contributing attendees.
Included in the workshop agenda:

Assessing the separate responsibilities of leader and attendee |

Planning ahead – agenda, participants, setting, time frame |

Establishing clear objectives |

Stimulating discussion and sticking to the subject |

Handling difficult people; encouraging their participation |

Dealing with conflict and confrontation |

Producing results and clarifying decisions |

Establishing responsibility for action, and following up on assignments |
